We've found balena Etcher to be very reliable in a number of tests. That said, rufus is also great.
We're aware of this bug. Using the kernel recommended in this guide we have not been able to duplicate the issue. I respond further in the forum thread.
Added, thank you
Excellent catch, corrected. Thank you
As of Dec 2022:
- Fingerprint reader section updated.
- Current kernel/packages appear to have wifi working well without drops in our testing.
- Details on ALS are added.
Fingerprint reader section has been updated.
The ability to use the brightness keys is working with the recommended above grub entry and a sudo update-grub afterwards. Automatic brightness however, will not work.
We're recommending Manjaro 22.0 with kernel 6.1.1-1 which should provide performance. If you have issues, please reach out to us at community.frame.work for assistance.
Hopefully the tearing is a bit better for you with the current kernel in Manjaro 22.0 with kernel 6.1.1-1. If it does not, please reach out to us at community.frame.work for assistance.

Hi Joaquin,
Tweaked the instructions a bit more. Using sudo works great, LightDM for login should work, but there have been reports of some issues for some users. Please read the instructions carefully, should help. :)
Hi Joaquin,
After digging into this deeper, it appears that changes to LightDM on Linux Mint have introduced some new challenges with fingerprint readers being able to login - tested on both Framework and non-Framework laptops with working fingerprint readers to be sure. The are some conf files that should allow for editing, however this will be a work in progress. Standard tweaks made to the needed LightDM and PAM conf files have not worked. Something changed on the Linux Mint side of things.
