I my experience doing this: “““As root, edit "/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf", add "options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-multi" to the end of it, and then reboot.””” will cause your builtin speakers not to work.
With regards to getting the fingerprint reader to work, this guy has a guide for debian which works for pop OS https://blog.b-ark.ca/2021/09/06/debian-... . Also elevated systems made that set of instructions into a shell script that more of less executes the install of the fingerprint reader discussed there https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl4ik7Pi... , a direct link to the shell script is here bit.ly/FP_Reader . NOTE you should read the shell script and make sure it makes sense to you as it is inherently dangerous to run random shell scripts from strangers on the internet.
