Don't neglect this step. I had an issue with a non-functioning display after the upgrade, and only after revisiting this step did I restore functionality to the screen. Thankfully, Framework support was able to guide me through it.
I can attest to the comment of @xam, improperly routing these cables caused my display to fail, and only after routing them exactly like in step 11 was functionality restored. Strange issue, but Framework support was able to help me resolve it.
